Church Membership – Why?

We believe a local church is a community of Christ Followers.  Because we are a community we have responsibility to and for one another.  Church membership does not make you a Christian nor does it make you better than any other person who attends MCN.  What it does is make us responsible to and for each other.  It is a public way of interring into a covenant relationship with this body of Christ Followers.   

Because only those that are supportive of this body and its mission should be in leadership one must be a member in order to vote or be elected into leadership.  We do this not with a desire to exclude anyone but with sense that our community should be lead by those that are willing to publicly covenant their support and affirmation of our fundamental beliefs and mission.
